There are few things more annoying than opening up your email and seeing spam. Spam has been around forever and it’s not going away anytime soon. But there are simple ways to get rid of spam and help prevent it.
Your email program has ways of dealing with spam. Right-click on the spam and use the junk filter or rules to mark the message and send any future mail from that sender to your deleted folder.
Never respond to spam, even to say stop sending it or clicking their unsubscribe links. All this does is validate your email address. They will then sell it to other spammers.
As far as preventing spam, there are several simple things you can do. Don’t give your email address to anyone unless you believe it is a valid business and you want to get their email. For places where you have to give an address, open up a free account and only use that account for that purpose. In this way, a lot of the spam goes to an account you never check.
